I am Privacy Counsel and Head of Content at Privacy Partnership Law.
I am an experienced data protection and commercial solicitor, with years of practice in commercial law and a specialist focus on data protection. My practice spans UK GDPR compliance, consumer laws, a wide range of commercial contracts, and intellectual property matters. I have acted for both UK and international businesses.
I advise businesses on structuring robust agreements that mitigate legal risk and support their long-term commercial objectives. My experience includes working with global businesses, up and coming start-ups, and household name brands across a range of industries such as technology, manufacturing, hospitality, education, and property. I have a particular interest and experience of working with businesses in the technology space, in particular SaaS providers and software developers.
I provide plain English legal advice, always with a commercial perspective with the aim of helping clients feel at ease and confident. My expertise in UK GDPR compliance includes a range of matters from advising on international data transfers to drafting and negotiating data processing and sharing agreements, to supporting with contentious matters such as data subject complaints, data breaches and subject access requests. Clients rely on me as a trusted advisor to help them understand the complex legal framework of data protection laws and integrate data protection into their broader business strategy.
As well as data protection, I have significant experience advising on various high-value and complex commercial agreements, including technology contracts, licensing and distribution agreements, manufacturing projects, and high-profile collaboration ventures. My strong knowledge of commercial contract drafting and negotiation means I am well placed to advise clients on both data protection and wider commercial matters when entering into privacy related contracts, including critical high-risk issues such as contractual indemnities and liability negotiations. My aim is to help clients approach contracts pragmatically and commercially, protecting them from legal risk whilst helping them get deals over the line.
My notable work has included advising a global household name confectionery and cards manufacturer on GDPR compliance and marketing laws for the launch of its children’s mobile app, working with international counsel on cross-border privacy projects (including with a leading US accountancy firm) and working with a premium US e-commerce brand on its UK launch, covering both GDPR compliance and a suite of contractual agreements.
I am an experienced content writer and creator and draft bespoke legal guides, blogs, and marketing materials that help businesses navigate complex legal issues. Publications such as The Lawyer and The Law Society Gazette have featured my work. I enjoy writing about interesting and fast developing areas such as AI, privacy law, and technology, with the aim to help businesses digest complex legal issues with confidence.
When I am not working, I enjoy travel, baking, exploring London’s coffee and food scene and pampering my miniature Shih Tzu.
